Construction website design that makes your company look established

Construction website design has one main job: convince a cautious client, main contractor or procurement team that you can deliver on time, safely and to spec. What I add, and most designers cannot, is search: I work in SEO, so your sectors, services and case studies line up with what buyers and procurement teams look for online. The result is an affordable, solid website built around your accreditations and the project conversations you want.

Who is reading

In construction, your website is often read after the decision-maker has heard your name.

A facilities manager is shortlisting contractors. A main contractor needs a reliable groundworks firm. A homeowner has two quotes for an extension and wants to know which builder feels safer. In each case, they go to your website to check.

That check is really a risk assessment. Do you look established? Have you done projects like theirs? Do you hold the accreditations their process requires? Can they reach a real person?

Many construction websites fail that check, not because the company is weak, but because the site undersells it. A few stock photos of hard hats, a vague "about us" and a contact form. Your competitors look the same, which means the one with the clearest evidence wins.

I design construction websites to be that clear, evidence-first choice.

The evidence

Case studies are your strongest page.

A good construction case study answers the same questions a client would ask at a pre-contract meeting.

01

The brief

What the client needed, the sector, the site constraints and the timescale. One short paragraph.

02

The numbers

Contract value band, programme length, floor area or unit count. Numbers make a project real.

03

The challenge

Live occupied building? Tight urban access? Phased handover? This is where your competence shows.

04

The result

Delivered on programme, snagging closed out, client feedback. Honest outcomes build more trust than superlatives.

05

The photos

Progress shots and finished shots, with permission. A drone photo or two can transform the page.

Credentials

Accreditations, presented like they matter.

Procurement teams tick boxes. Make the boxes easy to tick.

Whether your clients look for CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS, ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, or NHBC registration for housebuilding, those credentials should be easy to find and easy to verify. I show them as a consistent row near the top of the home page, repeated on relevant sector pages, with a short line on what each one covers.

Health and safety deserves its own section too: your approach, your record and who is responsible. For commercial clients, this is often the page they read most carefully.

For domestic builders the emphasis shifts. Insurance-backed guarantees, membership of trade bodies such as the Federation of Master Builders, and building control sign-off matter more than ISO standards.

Site structure

Organised the way clients search.

By sector

Commercial, education, healthcare, residential. Each sector page shows relevant projects and speaks that client's language.

By service

New build, fit-out, refurbishment, groundworks. Each service can rank for searches like "commercial fit-out contractors Leeds".

By region

Only where you genuinely work and have projects to show. A region page without local projects is just a list of place names.

Construction website prices

Solid websites, at an affordable, fixed price

For larger firms with many projects and sectors, I quote a custom build after the call. Either way, we agree the price before work starts.

Questions

Construction website questions

Working on a tender and need the site sooner? Tell me the deadline.
What should a construction company website include?

Case studies with real detail, your accreditations and health and safety credentials, the sectors you work in, the size of projects you take on, and a clear route for tender or project enquiries. For domestic builders, add a gallery, the areas you cover and how your quotes work.

How do we present case studies without breaking confidentiality?

Describe the project type, value band, timescale and outcome, and use photos you have permission to share. Many clients are happy to be named. Where they are not, "a 12,000 sq ft office fit-out for a professional services firm in Leeds" still carries weight.

Should we list every accreditation we hold?

List the ones your clients check: CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS, ISO standards or NHBC, depending on your market. Show them as a tidy, consistent row, with a sentence on what each covers. Logos alone look like clutter.

Can the site help with recruitment?

Yes. A simple careers page describing the kind of people you hire, the projects they would work on and how to apply often brings in better candidates than job boards alone. It also reassures clients that you are growing.

What does a construction website cost?

Most construction firms suit the Business Website, from £1,250, or Website + Visibility, from £1,750. A small domestic builder can start with the £590 Starter Website. I quote larger sites with many case studies individually.
